FOUNDATION

The Business & Professional Women's Foundation of Maryland, Inc. (BPWF/MD), is the non-profit educational and charitable arm of BPW/MD. Established in 1987, the BPWF/MD:

• provides training and educational programs
  
• awards state scholarships
  
• coordinates the Women's History program
  
• publishes the The Newscaster quarterly
  
• publishes the biennial Resource Directory, a comprehensive membership listing

The Foundation is recognized as a 501(c)(3) organization under the Internal Revenue Code and by the State of Maryland as a charitable organization. All contributions are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.

The goals of BPWF/MD include:

• the improvement of employment opportunities and the economic status of women in the labor force
  
• career development for working women
  
• career advancement for deserving women through the award of scholarships
  
• sponsorship of meetings and conferences on the role of women in the workplace

A partnership with the Small Business Administration has resulted in business round tables being conducted throughout the state.

In 2004, a partnership was established with the Small Business Administration, which has resulted in several business roundtables being conducted throughout the state annually, and in 2004, BPWF/MD will have a seat on the board of the Maryland Women's Heritage Center. These programs all support working women and lend encouragement and support to their families.
