WOMEN'S ISSUES IN THE WORKPLACE

The current wage gap for workingwomen is 74 cents to each dollar earned by a man. BPW has been focusing on this equity issue for decades.

BPW/USA's Red Purse Society provides funding for pay equity forums, speakers, and Equal Pay Day public service announcements, stickers, buttons, bumper stickers, pins, brochures, and ads.

Check out facts and stats about pay equity, like this one:
"In the year 2004, full-time workingwomen were paid only
about 76 cents for every dollar paid to men. The wage gap is even wider for women of Color -- African-American women are paid only 66 cents and Latinas 54 cents for each dollar paid to a white man."
